Georgian PM meets with Uzbek Senate Chair Tanzila Narbaeva

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with the Chairwoman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbaeva, to discuss the long-standing friendly relations between the two countries and prospects for further cooperation in various fields.

During the meeting, Kobakhidze highlighted the importance of strengthening intergovernmental and interparliamentary cooperation. He also emphasized Georgia’s strategic geographical location as a bridge between Europe and Asia and underscored the country’s commitment to utilizing this advantage.

“It is crucial to collaborate in multilateral international formats. I appreciate Uzbekistan’s support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. We are building roads, planning a new international airport in Tbilisi, and developing a port on the Black Sea. These projects, aligned with the Middle Corridor initiative, will enhance cooperation between our countries. Additionally, we see great potential in strengthening ties in education, science, sports, and culture, given our shared historical connections,” Kobakhidze stated.

Chairwoman Narbaeva congratulated the Prime Minister on the victory of the ruling Georgian Dream party in the parliamentary elections.

“Mr. Prime Minister, welcome to the Senate! I would like to congratulate you on Georgian Dream’s decisive victory. I sincerely wish you and your delegation success. Your victory is a testament to the trust of your people. Our relations are growing stronger, and I am confident that your visit will further deepen our cooperation,” Narbaeva said.

Following the meeting, Prime Minister Kobakhidze left a message in the Senate’s honorary guest book.
