Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has praised Georgian veterans for their service and outlined the government’s support programmes, including medical care for over 5,500 veterans and education funding for nearly 3,500 of their children, during a Veterans’ Day event.

Speaking at the ceremony on Friday, Kobakhidze said “I want to congratulate every veteran and express my respect for the invaluable contribution you made in the struggle for our homeland’s independence and unity. Today, we also honour the memory of fallen heroes who gave their lives for Georgia.”

He stressed that recognising veterans’ service, leveraging their experience for national development, and ensuring their social welfare was a key government priority, highlighting initiatives ranging from business support under the Produce in Georgia programme to veteran participation in international sports competitions.
