Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has expressed strong confidence in the reelection of Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, predicting a decisive first-round victory in the upcoming municipal elections.

Speaking to journalists, Kobakhidze said that not only is a first-round win certain, but Kaladze could also receive over 60% of the vote, based on the current political dynamics.

“In all scenarios, Kakha Kaladze will win the Tbilisi mayoral elections in the first round,” Kobakhidze stated. “And more than that — as things currently stand, I believe a result above 60% is absolutely realistic for him.”

The Prime Minister added that public opinion polls consistently show Kaladze enjoying strong support among voters.

Kobakhidze also emphasized the ruling party’s broader ambitions, declaring that Georgian Dream aims to secure victory in all 64 municipalities across the country — both in the mayoral races and city council elections.

“You know our goal — we want to win both the mayoral and city council elections in all 64 municipalities,” he said. “That’s not just a goal — it’s a very realistic outcome. I’m confident we will achieve that.”

The next municipal elections in Georgia are expected to take place in 2026, with political parties already preparing their campaigns.
