Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday commented on the ongoing investigation into explosives allegedly brought into Georgia from Ukraine, saying that a key suspect claimed the materials were imported on the orders of Ukrainian security services.

“This is very unfortunate,” Kobakhidze told reporters, adding that such an “unfriendly attitude” toward Georgia was regrettable.

“Overall, such a harsh approach toward our state is very unfortunate. But even more so, we have heard direct statements from Ukrainian officials expressing a desire to see a second front open in Georgia. This attitude is regrettable. We remain in a one-sided friendship with the Ukrainian authorities, based on the situation created in our friendly country,” Kobakhidze said.
