Georgian PM congratulates US, Azerbaijan, and Armenia on historic peace deal

Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze has congratulated the Presidents of the United States and Azerbaijan, as well as the Prime Minister of Armenia, on the signing of a historic peace agreement aimed at ushering in a new era of stability and economic growth in the South Caucasus.

“Georgia welcomes this historic moment for Armenia, Azerbaijan, the region, and the entire world,” Kobakhidze wrote on social network X. “Congratulations on the achievement of a historic peace agreement and the beginning of a new era of stability and economic development in the region! Georgia has always stood on the side of peace and cooperation in the region and will continue to provide strong support.”

The peace deal was signed by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in the presence of former US President Donald Trump. The signing ceremony took place on Friday, August 8, at the White House during a leaders’ summit.
