Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has paid tribute to Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II on the 47th anniversary of his enthronement, describing his leadership as a source of unity and inspiration during a transformative period in the nation’s history.

“Georgia has been fortunate to have the guidance of His Holiness through an era of significant challenges and changes,” Kobakhidze said. “For nearly five decades, his wisdom and unwavering love for God, our homeland, and humanity have been a beacon for our people.”

The Prime Minister highlighted the Patriarch’s enduring impact, noting,
“He has united us and instilled in us a profound faith in the future.”

Kobakhidze extended his best wishes to the spiritual leader, adding, “On this important occasion, I congratulate His Holiness and wish him health and longevity for the continued benefit of our country and its people.”
