Georgian PM congratulates National Olympic Committee on 35th anniversary

Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, extended his congratulations to the Georgian National Olympic Committee (GNOC) on its 35th anniversary. The Prime Minister, accompanied by Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, attended the jubilee celebration and an awards ceremony honoring successful athletes. The information was released by the Government Administration.

During the event, Kobakhidze, Papuashvili, and GNOC President Leri Khabelov presented awards to Olympic champions Lasha Talakhadze, Geno Petriashvili, and Lasha Bekauri. In turn, Khabelov awarded commemorative anniversary medals to Kobakhidze and Papuashvili.

It was noted during the ceremony that 2024 has been an exceptionally successful year for Georgian sports, with outstanding achievements in various disciplines.

The event was attended by Olympic champions, medalists, leaders of sports organizations, and representatives of different generations of Georgian athletes.
