Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday addressed a roundtable discussion at the seventh European Political Community (EPC) summit in Copenhagen, focusing on economic security and reducing Europe’s external dependencies.
According to the government’s press office, Kobakhidze underlined Georgia’s strategic transit potential and its role within the Middle Corridor, stressing that the country could contribute to securing diversified supply chains of critical minerals not only for the European Union but also globally.
“Georgia’s goal is to further develop the Middle Corridor by improving its efficiency, which will strengthen its role as a reliable and competitive East-West transport route,” Kobakhidze said, noting that major infrastructure projects such as the Anaklia deep-sea port and railway modernization will significantly boost the country’s logistics capacity.
The roundtable was co-chaired by the prime ministers of Iceland and Ireland, with other participants including German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović, and Monaco’s Prince Albert II.
Kobakhidze was joined in Copenhagen by Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili and Head of the Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani.
