Ilia Jalaghania appointed state representative in Kvemo Kartli

PM Kobakhidze wished Jalaghania success in his new responsibilities and underlined the governor’s “key role” in overseeing the effective implementation of ongoing and planned regional projects

Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has appointed Ilia Jalaghania as the new State Representative (Governor) in the Kvemo Kartli region, the Government Administration has announced.
Kobakhidze wished Jalaghania success in his new responsibilities and underlined the governor’s “key role” in overseeing the effective implementation of ongoing and planned regional projects.
The prime minister said that, alongside ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of infrastructure and development initiatives, the top priority must be responsiveness to local needs and challenges.
Regional Development Minister Kakhaber Guledani also attended the meeting.
Jalaghania is a lawyer by profession. He had been serving as acting State Representative and first deputy in Kvemo Kartli and previously held multiple senior positions within state agencies, including the law enforcement system. He has also worked as a district prosecutor in several regions and has experience in legal and investigative roles.
