Georgian PM offers condolences to Turkish President over military cargo plane crash

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday spoke by phone with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to offer condolences following the crash of a Turkish military cargo aircraft.

Kobakhidze stated on social media platform X that Georgia stood “in full solidarity” with its Turkish friends during this difficult time.

“I conveyed my heartfelt condolences to President Erdoğan following the tragic crash of a Turkish Air Force cargo plane in Georgia. During this difficult time, Georgia stands in full solidarity with our Turkish friends. Our thoughts are with the victims, their loved ones and all those affected by this tragedy”, Kobakhidze wrote.

The Turkish military aircraft crashed about five kilometers from Georgia’s border while en route from Azerbaijan to Turkey.
