The 15th session of the Georgia-Armenia Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation was held under the joint chairmanship of the Prime Ministers of Georgia and Armenia.
During the meeting on Wednesday, Prime Ministers Irakli Kobakhidze and Nikol Pashinyan discussed the positive dynamics of bilateral cooperation across various sectors and prospects for further deepening partnership.
Kobakhidze stressed the strategic partnership with Armenia, growing cooperation, and the importance of regional stability.
“Our countries have established a variety of cooperative formats, which positively influence the development of our partnership. Armenia consistently ranks among Georgia’s top ten trade partners. In terms of visitors from Armenia, it is among the top three. Beyond trade and economic ties, we maintain close collaboration in education, culture, people-to-people relations, and strategic areas. This creates significant potential to further deepen cooperation in all fields. Maintaining stability in the region is also critically important. We welcome recent positive trends, including the peace agreement concluded between your country and Azerbaijan. These developments provide a solid foundation to further strengthen and develop our region. Prime Minister, I would like to thank you personally for your contribution to advancing our bilateral relations,” Kobakhidze said.
Pashinyan thanked the Georgian Prime Minister for Georgia’s continued support of the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan and highlighted the positive trends in trade and economic relations between the two countries.
“Since Armenia’s independence, goods have been transported from Georgia, and we hope that rail traffic will further increase trade. Your support in this regard is invaluable. With Georgia’s backing, trilateral trade and cooperation among Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan have deepened. Peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan naturally improves the regional environment. We will continue to unconditionally support Georgia’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and political independence. The historical ties between our peoples are strong and positive, which is a fundamental and valuable asset,” Pashinyan said.
