Pavlenishvili said the public wanted a united and coordinated opposition

United National Movement deputy secretary-general Irakli Pavlenishvili has said that there was a clear path for holding elections in Georgia, and that opposition parties were working together to implement it.

Speaking to journalists on Thursday, Pavlenishvili said the public wanted a united and coordinated opposition.

“There is one simple way - if we do not end political persecution in this country, do not repeal repressive legislation, and fail to agree on how elections should be held, we will not achieve our goals,” he said. “Western-oriented opposition parties are working on these plans and steps, striving to reach our objectives collectively.”

Pavlenishvili added that the unity of opposition forces was both necessary and requested by the protest electorate.
