Irakli Pavlenishvili, Deputy Secretary of the United National Movement (UNM), on Friday said that today’s protest in Tbilisi was expected to draw a large crowd.
According to Pavlenishvili, this represented an unprecedented, continuous protest in the history of the country.
"One year has passed since the struggle of the Georgian people against tyranny entered a completely different phase. Today, once again, we want to show - first and foremost to our country, but also to the international community and the world - that the protest continues until victory. Continuous protest means protesting until victory. This is an unprecedented, uninterrupted protest in our country’s history. Despite unprecedented repression over the past year, the people have not broken and continue to protest on Rustaveli Avenue every day, with thousands gathering. Naturally, today we must be very many, and I am confident we will be," Pavlenishvili said.
The protest march will begin at 19:00 from the first building of Tbilisi State University and the old building of the Public Broadcaster. From 20:00, participants will move toward the Parliament.
