The International Road Federation (IRF Global) and one of Georgia’s leading companies in high technologies, Elite Technology, with the support of the Government of Georgia, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly organise the 4th IRF Europe & Central Asia Regional Conference & Exhibition in Tbilisi.
The MoU was signed by C. Patrick Sankey, President and CEO of IRF Global, and Giorgi Mamadashvili, Owner and Chair of the Board of Elite Technology.
According to the parties, the agreement formalises cooperation on delivering a high-level international event that will bring together industry leaders, policymakers and experts from across Europe and Central Asia.
IRF Global is an international platform for knowledge exchange and cooperation in the fields of road infrastructure and mobility development, bringing together global expertise and best practices. The organisers say hosting an IRF international congress in Georgia represents a “historic opportunity” to position the country as a regional hub for transport, connectivity and infrastructure dialogue.
The conference will focus on key thematic areas, including road safety, the role of artificial intelligence in road infrastructure, infrastructure investment opportunities, international integration and regional connectivity, as well as environmental sustainability.
The event is expected to bring together a wide-ranging international audience, including representatives of transport ministries and road agencies, transport faculties and research institutions, highly qualified road design and infrastructure experts, private sector representatives working in road infrastructure, and regional institutions active across the United States, Europe and Central Asia.
According to the organisers, hosting the IRF Global international congress in Georgia envisages the participation of up to 500 delegates from around 120 countries, alongside representatives of international organisations and institutions. The initiative also aims to establish a large-scale regional platform dedicated to road safety and infrastructure development.
