Israel has carried out what it described as a preventive military strike against Iran, with multiple explosions reported in Tehran and other major cities, according to regional media outlets.

Explosions were reported in Tehran, Isfahan, Karaj and Kermanshah following what Israeli officials characterized as operations aimed at neutralizing security threats. Iranian authorities have not yet released a full official assessment of the reported damage or casualties.

In Israel, a nationwide state of emergency has been declared. Air raid sirens sounded across several regions, and civilians were instructed to remain near shelters. Israel’s civilian airspace has been temporarily closed.

US President Donald Trump confirmed that the United States had begun what he described as “massive military actions” against Iran. He said that Tehran posed a direct threat to US security and accused Iran of attempting to revive its nuclear program and develop long-range missile capabilities.

Trump said the United States intended to target Iran’s missile infrastructure and naval assets. In remarks addressed to the Iranian public, he urged citizens to “take control of your government” once military operations conclude.

Israeli media reports indicated that the joint operation with the United States had been under preparation for several months. Separate reports suggested that Israel was preparing for a potential multi-day escalation in hostilities with Iran.
