"It is a great responsibility and honor, if approved, to be the Prime Minister of this country for the second time", – said the candidate for Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili.

Irakli Gharibashvili thanked the Georgian Dream team for their support and trust.

"Thank you friends. I want to tell everyone that it is an emotional day for us, for everyone. Nonetheless, our team made a quick decision and I want to thank our party chairman, the whole team for naming me as Prime Minister. It is a great responsibility and honor for me to be the Prime Minister of this country for the second time if approved. There are many challenges facing our country, first of all it is the pandemic, unemployment, economic poverty and the difficult situation of the population, which requires quick decisions and for this we are all committed to solve the problems of the population quickly. We will soon restore the order and balance that is necessary for the country to continue to function normally, within the framework of the Constitution. I want to thank the team once again, we will do our best to make the country even stronger,"- Gharibashvili said.

The nomination of a candidate for the post of Prime Minister became necessary after Giorgi Gakharia resigned. Gakharia announced his resignation at a briefing at the government administration today.
