Legal Affairs Committee approves amendments to Criminal Code in first reading

The Legal Affairs Committee of the Georgian Parliament has reviewed and supported amendments to the Criminal Code of Georgia in an expedited manner during its first reading.
According to the proposed legislation, Articles 222 (Seizure or Blockade of a Broadcasting or Communications Facility and/or a Strategic or Especially Significant Object) and 330 (Seizure or Blockade of a Strategic or Especially Significant Object for Terrorist Purposes) will be supplemented with a note. This addition stipulates that the list of strategic and/or specially significant objects will be determined by a decree of the Georgian government.
The bill was drafted by the National Security Council’s Office and initiated by the Georgian government.
