Anzor Chubinidze, the head of the special service of state protection,on Monday dismissed media reports over the presence of the founder of the ruling Georgian Dream party Bidzina Ivanishvili at recent meeting between Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili and Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev in the central Georgian city of Mtskheta.

“I think it is a very frivolous question. Of course, I did not attend the meeting. I am the head of the agency, I was there and provided security. I can tell you with a hundred percent guarantee that Mr. Bidzina Ivanishvili was not there,” Chubinidze said.

Aliyev arrived in Georgia on October 24, which was his second visit to Georgia after 2015.
