Gudushauri served as a deputy to Health Minister Zurab Azarashvili in 2022

Former deputy health minister Ilia Gudushauri has been detained, his lawyer confirmed on Tuesday.

Speaking to local media, the lawyer said he has not yet been informed of the specific charges against Gudushauri.

The defence lawyer, Dimitri Mchedlishvili, said he plans to visit Gudushauri later today at the pre-trial detention facility.

Gudushauri served as a deputy to Health Minister Zurab Azarashvili in 2022.
