Georgia’s Health Ministry: Nine protesters hospitalized following December 6 demonstrations

On December 6, emergency medical teams transported nine protesters from the demonstration site to medical facilities due to injuries sustained during the protests, the Ministry of Health of Georgia announced. The injuries included chest and upper limb trauma, fractures, superficial wounds, and intoxication.
Two patients remain under medical supervision in clinics but are reported to be in stable condition with no threat to their lives. The remaining injured protesters have been discharged after receiving necessary treatment.
The Health Ministry noted that 20 emergency response teams were mobilized near the protest site to provide medical assistance. Several protesters received first aid on-site and did not require hospitalization.
The reported figures reflect cases handled exclusively by the Emergency Situations Coordination and Urgent Assistance Center.
The protests escalated overnight on December 6-7, with riot police dispersing demonstrators. Law enforcement detained 48 individuals during the operation, with footage showing alleged physical violence by riot police during the arrests.
