January-March 2022 foreign trade surpasses 2019 data

In January-March 2022, the foreign trade turnover of goods increased compared to previous years, the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) has stated.

 

The turnover of the first quarter of the current year is ahead not only of the data for 2020 and 2021, but also before the pandemic, in 2019.

 

In January-March 2022, foreign trade turnover of goods in Georgia (excluding undeclared trade) amounted to 3,865 million which equals an increase of 37.9 percent compared to the previous year.

 

Exports – 1 171.8 million. USD (increased by 43.3 percent);

 

Imports – 2 693.2 million. USD (up 35.7 percent).

 

Georgia’s foreign trade by countries:

 

EU countries: Exports – $ 208,604.6; Imports – $ 596,566.3;

 

CIS countries: Exports – $ 435,568.6; Imports – $ 748,922.1;

 

Other countries: Exports – $ 527,626.8; Imports – $ 1 347 757.7.
