July in Telavi court in eastern Georgia has found former deputy head of Telavi criminal police Vano Zandarashvili guilty of premediated murder of Telavi central hospital director, 38-year-old Zurab Sachishvili.

The incident took place in December of 2020 when Zandarashvili, Sachishvili and several others were attending a birthday party.

During a confrontation following the party, Zandarashvili fired several shots.

He was under the influence of alcohol.

Locals say that Zandarashvili used to walk with a weapon and acted in an improper way when he was under the influence of alcohol.
