Air Cairo, which has been operating in Georgia since 2014, will start flights on a new route connecting Cairo and Batumi during the 2026 summer navigation season.
According to the airline’s application submitted to the Civil Aviation Agency of Georgia, non-scheduled (charter) flights will operate every Tuesday from 30 June to 22 September. The route marks the first-ever direct air link between Cairo and the Georgian seaside resort.
The Civil Aviation Agency granted Air Cairo the necessary permission to operate the route on 30 March. Currently, the airline flies between Sharm El Sheikh and Tbilisi once a week.
Industry experts expect the new Cairo-Batumi connection to open a fresh tourism corridor, facilitating travel for group tours and boosting economic ties between the two countries.
“The new flights will create a convenient travel option for tourists and strengthen people-to-people connections between Egypt and Georgia,” the agency said.
