Kakha Kaladze pledged continued service to the capital and its residents as he was officially nominated for a third term as Tbilisi mayor by the ruling Georgian Dream party.
“This is a great responsibility and another opportunity to serve our beautiful city and the people of Tbilisi,” Kaladze said during the party’s campaign launch event. “I thank our political team for their trust, and especially Mr. Bidzina Ivanishvili, with whom I have had the honor of standing since 2011 to defend national interests.”
Kaladze was presented as the party’s mayoral candidate by Prime Minister and party chairman Irakli Kobakhidze on July 31. The event was also attended by the party’s founder and honorary chairman Bidzina Ivanishvili.
Local self-government elections in Georgia are scheduled for October 2025. If elected, Kaladze would serve his third consecutive term as Tbilisi’s mayor.
