Kaladze stressed that ordinary Georgian citizens, not foreign officials, were the “true decision-makers in determining who holds power and how the opposition is represented.”

Re-elected Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has rejected recent European Union comments on Georgia’s October 4 local elections, insisting that “the EU is of no real interest” and that the country is governed solely by its citizens.
“My position is simple: neither [Kaja] Kallas nor [Marta] Kos will help you, because the Georgian people do not support you [the opposition]. The European Union is of no real interest to me - what matters most is His Excellency, the Georgian people,” Kaladze said.
He stressed that ordinary Georgian citizens, not foreign officials, were the “true decision-makers in determining who holds power and how the opposition is represented.”
“One thing must be clear: the masters of this country are the ordinary citizens - the people you see here, not someone from outside. This country is governed only by its Excellency, the Georgian people,” Kaladze added.
