Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has described the planned reform of Georgia’s education system as “highly significant,” stressing the importance of its full implementation following a presentation by the country’s Prime Minister on Thursday.

Kaladze on Friday acknowledged that the reform was slightly overdue but emphasized its necessity for addressing one of the country’s key challenges.

“The reform is very important, a bit delayed, but the main thing is that it is implemented. The Prime Minister spoke extensively about the challenges and what needs to be done in the coming years,” Kaladze said.

He highlighted the role of education in shaping future generations and supporting national development. “We must ensure that our children receive a quality education. The knowledge of educated citizens must then be applied to the country’s development, creating more prosperity and economic growth. For this, we need educated, successful young people,” he added.

Kaladze concluded that public communication regarding the reform will continue, underlining its importance for Georgia’s long-term progress.
