Kakha Kaladze, the ruling Georgian Dream party’s candidate for Tbilisi mayor and the current head of the capital, expressed gratitude to voters on Saturday following the closure of polling stations and the release of exit poll results, which indicated another victory for the ruling team.
“Congratulations to everyone on this wonderful victory. I congratulate all of Georgia! This is another response from dignified Georgians to those rootless agents. Peace to Georgia, more goodness to Tbilisi!” Kaladze declared, stressing the importance of peace amid global political challenges.
Kaladze also praised Georgian Dream founder Bidzina Ivanishvili, calling him a guarantor of peace and stability in the country:
“I am proud to be Ivanishvili’s comrade-in-arms. The fact that peace prevails in our country today is the result of his vision, strong character, and the policies we are implementing under his leadership,” he said.
The Mayor also thanked Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, and Tbilisi campaign head Levan Machavariani, highlighting unity within the ruling party as its main strength. But his special appreciation was reserved for the voters: “Your support and solidarity made this important victory possible. Starting tomorrow, we will begin implementing projects that are crucial for our city,” Kaladze promised.
He underscored that Georgian Dream is the only political force with a concrete plan for the capital’s development:
“We know exactly what Tbilisi needs, what must be done, and what the city should look like in four years. I promise, as mayor of the capital, to return your respect and love with meaningful work. Success and victory to our country - long live Tbilisi and our victory! May God protect Georgia,” Kaladze concluded.
