Tbilisi Mayor calls for strong turnout to ’’rescue country”

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has issued a rallying call to the Georgian public, urging citizens to turn out on election day to “rescue the country” and lay a stable foundation for Georgia’s future. In a video address, Kaladze emphasized that the October 26 election marks a pivotal moment in safeguarding Georgia’s development and preserving national peace.

“On one side, there’s a choice of servitude, hatred, and betrayal of our homeland, and on the other—peace, freedom, patriotism, and love for one another. Together, we must build a united, free Georgia with a bright European future,” he declared, directing his message to Georgians both at home and abroad.

Reflecting on the past four years, Kaladze noted the hardships and pressures Georgia has faced, including the extensive effort it took to secure candidate status for European Union membership amidst significant international and internal challenges. He attributed this achievement to the government’s efforts and the unwavering support of the Georgian people.

“Our journey has been filled with challenges, but the Georgian Dream party has demonstrated resilience and protected Georgia from potentially existential threats,” Kaladze said. “None of this would have been possible without the support of our people, who have stood by us, overcoming all obstacles to protect Georgia’s national interests.”

Kaladze urged voters to show up in historic numbers, “to stand strong and ensure that the peace we’ve maintained can continue.” He reiterated that the government’s goal is to advance Georgia’s progress and secure its peaceful, European future, encouraging every Georgian to participate in shaping the nation’s future.
