The Mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, on Tuesday criticised opposition forces, describing any potential alliances between them as “illusory” and lacking public support.

Speaking to the media, Kaladze said he was unconcerned with the popularity or political standing of former president Mikheil Saakashvili or other opposition figures.

He claimed that regardless of how opposition groups shaped or what names they adopted, they ultimately represent what he called “traitors” and “agents acting on external instructions.”

Kaladze further argued that opposition parties had no meaningful backing within Georgian society, asserting that the public was aware they did not serve national interests but instead follow directives from abroad.
