Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has criticized what he called the European Union’s “double standards” following negative reactions from Brussels to US sanctions.

Speaking to reporters, Kaladze noted that while other countries impose sanctions and issue recommendations freely, similar actions directed at Georgia are treated differently. “It seems we still have the usual double standard,” he said.

Kaladze added that in today’s global context, the public can clearly distinguish between allies and adversaries. “People see everything clearly - who acts in their interest, who is an enemy, and who is well-intentioned,” he added.
