Tbilisi’s re-elected Mayor Kakha Kaladze has expressed gratitude to the capital’s residents for their “strong turnout” and support for the Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia party in the October 4 local self-government elections.

Speaking at a meeting of the Tbilisi Municipal Government on Wednesday, Kaladze stressed that the party had achieved an “unprecedented result” in the capital, securing the trust of over 71% of voters, which translated to more than 215,000 ballots cast in favor of the ruling team.

“First of all, I want to congratulate everyone on the successful completion of the local elections, which are of great significance for the life and development of our city. Through this choice, our citizens once again confirmed their will and desire for peace, progress, and a better future for Tbilisi,” Kaladze said.

He further noted that the “overwhelming support” demonstrated by voters was both a source of strength and a major responsibility for the city government. “This mandate means more parks, cleaner streets, and the realization of every project we have promised within our action plan. We will continue to serve the people of Tbilisi tirelessly and with full dedication,” the mayor noted.

Kaladze also promised that the next four years will be among the most ambitious and dynamic periods in the capital’s development. “I assure you, this trust will be transformed into great responsibility before you. Tbilisi will continue evolving into a modern, European city. Your support and our strong team in Georgian Dream are the guarantees of that,” he said.

Concluding his remarks, the mayor thanked all employees of the Tbilisi Municipality for their professionalism and hard work. “I have often said that my strength lies in my team - the people who make things happen every day. Their dedication and professionalism are what drive our city forward,” Kaladze added.
