Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced that the capital’s New Year slogan will be “A City Filled With Kindness”, highlighting the need for unity, empathy and mutual respect amid ongoing political and social tensions.
Speaking at the municipal government meeting on Wednesday, Kaladze said the chosen theme reflected both the achievements and the challenges the city and country faced throughout the year.
“Considering global and domestic developments, what strengthens us most - the driving force behind all good deeds - is kindness,” the mayor said. He added that Georgian society had experienced both “great successes and defining moments” that at times exposed divisions.
Kaladze further stressed that more compassion was needed toward fellow citizens, including those with different political views, and urged the public to reject resentment and hostility in favor of building a shared future.
He also wished residents peace, unity and the chance to live in a strong and free country.
“People are tired of tension, insults and alienation,” Kaladze said. “We may have different opinions, even politically, but this must remain civil. I wish everyone kindness, spiritual peace and a dignified life in a free country.”
