The European Union has called on senior officials in the Georgian government to respect human rights and stop the country’s ongoing democratic backsliding, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said.

According to Kallas, the authorities must immediately release unlawfully detained citizens.
