Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas has strongly condemned the violent crackdown on peaceful protesters, journalists, and politicians on Sunday in Tbilisi.

“The brutal crackdown on peaceful protesters, journalists, and politicians tonight in Tbilisi is unacceptable,” Kallas stated on X.

She emphasized that Georgia is failing to meet the expectations of an EU candidate country.

”Georgia falls short of any expectation from a candidate country.

The EU stands with the people of Georgia in their fight for freedom and democracy,” Kallas wrote.
