Tbilisi Court sentences Formula journalist to five days in detention for blocking Rustaveli Avenue

Tbilisi City Court on Sunday sentenced Formula journalist Keta Tsitskishvili to five days of administrative detention for blocking Rustaveli Avenue in central Tbilisi during a protest.

The ruling was delivered by Judge Koba Chagunava.

In addition to Tsitskishvili, the court over the past two days has sentenced 11 individuals to detention for either blocking the road or covering their faces during the October 18 demonstrations. Those detained include Vakho Sanaia, Saba Japaridze, Nino Beruashvili, Davit Gogichaishvili, Levan Jobava, Shalva Chubinidze, Lara Nachkebia, Nino Svanidze, Saba Khomeriki, Levan Margiani and Giorgi Kiasashvili.

Meanwhile, the Court released several individuals directly from the courtroom, including Tornike Tkhilava, Lasha Chkhartishvili, Gela Gamkrelidze, Manuchar Machavariani and Mamuka Kupreishvili.
