Khatia Dekanoidze, a leading member of Georgia’s United National Movement, has criticized the ruling Georgian Dream party for attending the international forum in Turkmenistan dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust.
Dekanoidze said that participation in the forum was unnecessary and framed it as a tacit endorsement of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s political stance.
“Georgian Dream is a regime of war, violence, and chaos, because there was no need for representatives of the Georgian state - if one can call Kobakhidze such a representative of the Georgian Dream regime - to attend this forum. This is an event where Putin openly stated that countries attending should remain politically and internationally neutral. A regime that has declared war on its own citizens, the Georgian people, and the world, is effectively recognizing the political statement Putin presented at this forum,” Dekanoidze said.
