Rescue workers in Kyiv’s Sviatoshynskyi district have recovered two more bodies from the rubble of a residential building hit during a recent Russian attack, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths to 12. The update was shared by Timur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv’s City Military Administration, on social media.

“Rescuers have recovered two more bodies from the debris in the Sviatoshynskyi district. As of now, the death toll stands at 12,” Tkachenko wrote.

Efforts to clear the rubble and respond to the aftermath of the Russian strike are ongoing, he added.

The attack occurred on the night of April 24, when Russian forces launched a large-scale assault using both missiles and drones across Ukraine. According to Ukrainian officials, at least 90 people were injured in the strikes.

In response to the deadly attacks, April 25 has been declared a national day of mourning in Ukraine.
