Knut Abraham, Member of the German Bundestag from the CDU/CSU parliamentary group, has urged immediate action regarding the worsening political situation in Georgia. In a tweet directed at German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, Abraham emphasized the need for the foreign ministers of the Weimar Triangle (France, Germany, Poland) to visit Tbilisi as soon as possible.

“The situation in the EU candidate country Georgia is worsening by the day,” Abraham wrote. “The foreign ministers of the Weimar Triangle must go to Tbilisi now. The European Parliament’s resolution on Georgia and the experience of the Baltics show the way forward.”

This call comes as protests in Georgia continue to challenge the legitimacy of the new president and the ruling government.
