Tajik Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda has described Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze's official visit to Tajikistan as a historic milestone, expressing confidence that it will open a new chapter in relations between the two countries.
Speaking during a one-on-one meeting with Kobakhidze in Dushanbe, Rasulzoda reaffirmed Tajikistan's commitment to deepening friendly ties and expanding cooperation with Georgia.
"This is a historic moment for our countries. The head of the Georgian government is visiting Tajikistan for the first time, and I am confident that a new and very important chapter will be written in the history of our relations," Rasulzoda said.
The Tajik prime minister noted that relations between the two nations have traditionally been built on trust, mutual respect and sincerity, adding that Georgians hold a special place in the hearts of the Tajik people due to Georgia's natural beauty, rich culture and traditions.
Rasulzoda also highlighted the contribution of Georgian professionals to the development of Tajikistan in fields including science, healthcare, construction and architecture.
He added that the naming of one of Dushanbe's main avenues further symbolizes the close relationship between the two countries and emphasized that both governments are committed to giving new momentum to bilateral cooperation across a wide range of sectors.
"We have always understood each other well, and today our common goal is to provide serious momentum to cooperation in all directions," Rasulzoda said.
