MEP Rihards Kols urges free and fair elections in Georgia

European Parliament Member Rihards Kols has voiced support for the country’s aspirations toward European integration, urging a transparent electoral process that respects the will of the Georgian people. In a statement posted to social media, Kols highlighted the significant choice at hand for Georgia: moving toward a European future or risking further influence from Russia.

“The stakes couldn’t be higher for Georgia’s democracy and its people’s aspirations for a European future,” Kols wrote, emphasizing that global attention is focused on Georgia’s commitment to democratic integrity.
He called for an electoral process free from interference, allowing the Georgian people to choose their path openly and without intimidation.

“The world’s eyes are on you, Georgia, and the Georgian people deserve a free and fair election—one that reflects the true will of the Georgian people and safeguards their right to a European path,” Kols concluded, underscoring the importance of a transparent and legitimate election outcome.
