Georgia and Tajikistan have reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation across a wide range of sectors, including the economy, trade, investment, transport, transit and agriculture, according to a joint communiqué issued on Friday following talks between Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon.
The document states that the two sides see significant potential for further development of interstate relations and expressed confidence that bilateral ties have broad prospects for dynamic growth.
According to the communiqué, the parties also agreed to strengthen cooperation in science and education, culture, tourism, healthcare, sports and youth policy.
The sides further underlined the importance of deepening foreign policy cooperation based on mutual support on key international issues, describing it as one of the important elements of interstate dialogue between Georgia and Tajikistan.
The communiqué was issued as part of Kobakhidze’s official visit to Tajikistan, during which the two countries signed a number of bilateral documents aimed at expanding cooperation in various fields.
