Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba discussed with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries in the security sphere in connection with the aggravation of the military conflict in the Donbas and Crimea.
"I had a meaningful and substantive conversation with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken against the backdrop of Russia's systemic aggravation of the security situation in eastern Ukraine and Crimea. We discussed directions for strengthening cooperation in the security sphere," Kuleba wrote on his Twitter microblog on Wednesday evening.
In turn, Blinken noted that "Washington is closely following Russia's actions and assured that the United States will continue to steadily support Ukraine in the future in protecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity."
The parties also discussed specific areas for enhancing interaction in the political sphere.
