Police seized the unlawfully obtained fuel during a search of the suspects’ vehicle, the ministry said

Police in the Imereti region have arrested two individuals, both born in 1998 and identified as G.T. and I.S., on charges of group theft carried out by breaking into a storage facility, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.

According to investigators, the suspects were employed as technicians at Spenus Group. They allegedly conspired to steal 310 liters of fuel from special machinery stationed on the runway construction site at Kutaisi International Airport.

Police seized the unlawfully obtained fuel during a search of the suspects’ vehicle, the ministry said.

The offense is punishable by up to seven years in prison.
