Officers from the Kvemo Kartli Police Department have detained R.B., born in 1987, on charges of illegal possession of a particularly large quantity of narcotics and facilitating their sale.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on Tuesday that during searches of the suspect’s personal and temporary residences, more than one kilogram of the narcotic substance Alpha PVP was seized as evidence.

Investigators said the foreign national planned to distribute the drugs using the so-called “placement method.” Police also confiscated materials intended for packaging the narcotics.

The crime carries penalties of up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
