Kyiv confirms death of up to 500 children by Russia since outbreak of hostilities

At least 1,546 children have been killed or wounded in Ukraine since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022, the Office of the General Prosecutor of Ukraine said on Wednesday, adding the death of  494 children had been confirmed. 

 

The body said the figures could be inaccurate due to ongoing hostilities. 

 

According to the data updated by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in the first week of July, from February 24, 2022, to June 30, 2023, 9,177 civilians were killed in Ukraine and 15,993 were wounded. Among them, the deaths of 535 children were documented.
