Mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko has called on world leaders to increase economic and political pressure on Russia, pointing out the country threatened the security of ‘whole Europe and the civilized world.’

During an online meeting with Munich City Council earlier today, Klitschko thanked the German officials for supporting Kyiv amid the war, noting the Ukrainian capital needed fire and rescue equipment, ambulance cars and the means to protect civilians, including gas masks and medications.

“Our German friends promised additional help and support. They expressed admiration for the courage and bravery of Ukrainians fighting today for democratic principles and their future,” he said.

Klitschko added that Munich had already sent 15 carts of humanitarian aid to Kyiv since the beginning of March.
