Kyrylo Tymoshenko on Tuesday confirmed his resignation from the post of deputy head of the office of the president of Ukraine, without identifying the reasons behind the move.

Expressing gratitude to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for “trust and the opportunity to do good things”, he also thanked the heads of district military administrations and mayors of cities, armed forces and Ukrainians in general.

The decree published on Tuesday on the official website of the president of Ukraine, reads Zelenskyy had accepted the resignation on Monday.

Tymoshenko was appointed to the post in May 2019, with local media referring to him as one of the most influential figures in the country.

After the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February, Tymoshenko coordinated regional policy issues and the reconstruction of war-torn areas.

In the fall of 2022, the Ukrainian media wrote he was using a Chevrolet Tahoe for personal purposes that was handed  to Ukraine by General Motors to transport citizens from war zones.

Tymoshenko himself denied the allegations.

He was criticized for ineffective policies in the regions.
