Labor Inspection identifies 15 cases of discriminatory treatment in 2021

The Labor Inspection of Georgia has identified 15 cases of discriminatory treatment in Georgia this year in pre-contractual and labor relations, which were related to the requirements set out in the vacancy statements, as well as harassment in the workplace. 

The Labor Inspectorate checked the compliance of the requirements of 100 publicly advertised vacancies with the labor law (both on the basis of a complaint and on its own initiative) and found that there was age, sex, appearance and other descrminatory situations. 

The Labour Inspection says that for instance a candidate for the position of sales consultant should be a “pleasant-looking female.’ 

The Labour Inspection says that that discrimination at the workplace were related to improper treatment to employees by an employer.
