Landslides have occurred in several locations within the Tsageri-Lentekhi area of Georgia’s Racha Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region due to recent rain and hail.

The landslides have made it impossible to drive on the central highway connecting Lentekhi, Tsageri, and Kutaisi. According to Lentekhi Municipality City Hall, landslides developed in five locations, damaging high-voltage transmission lines and poles along the central road, which disrupted electricity supply to several villages and townships in the municipality.

The City Hall’s press office reported that all five affected areas have been cleared for off road vehicles.
