Police have launched an investigation into illicit trade in blood or blood components as rotten meat in large quantities was seized from a doctor’s apartment on the weekend.

The doctor-therapist still continues work in a clinic in Mukhiani district, outskirts of the Georgian capital.

A relative claims that the doctor had her refrigerator damaged which caused the pungent odor disturbing the neighborhood.

The apartment was located in the Sanzona district of Tbilisi

Front News exclusively reported about the incident on the weekend.

Neighbors told the media outlet that the woman, who lived alone on the fourth floor, allegedly had a dismembered body in the refrigerator.

They claimed that they were disturbed by the smell and called police, noting that initially the woman refused to open the door.

The neighbors suggested that the woman had a male friend whom they have not seen for a long time.

The doctor told law enforcement officers that she had different types of meat sent from a village which she was unable to save properly due to a damaged refrigerator.
